About Gregory Goy

My biography

Born of Light and Shadow

I was born on May 27, 1986, in Uzhhorod, a city where the streets whisper stories, and the skies paint themselves anew with every dawn. My journey began not with grand designs, but with the quiet thrill of a pencil on paper, sketching the world as I felt it.

At the age of 20, I discovered oil painting, and with it, the palette knife - a tool that became an extension of my hand, carving cities from memory and dreams. My passion was ignited by the unrelenting rhythm of metropolises. Streets bathed in the glow of headlights, towering buildings lost in their own silent conversations, and the hum of life that never truly sleeps.

My early days were shaped by the lessons of Alexander Boksay, whose lineage traced back to the renowned Transcarpathian school of painting. From him, I learned to see beyond the surface, to capture not just what is visible but what is felt - the pulse beneath the pavement, the stories hidden in the light and shadow.

In every painting, I strive to bring the city to life.

The strokes are deliberate yet free, the textures layered like the stories of the streets. Light clashes with shadow, colors push and pull, and depth emerges, inviting the viewer to step inside, to wander, to feel. Each piece is a fragment of a city’s soul, a moment suspended in time, a story waiting to be heard.

Mission, Vision and Values

My mission

To breathe life into the silent rhythms of the city. Each brushstroke is a pulse, each canvas a fragment of an untold narrative. My work seeks to distill the infinite motion of urban life into still moments, where light, shadow, and texture speak the language of unseen worlds.

My vission

To reflect the infinite layers of urban life, crafting pieces that resonate with the quiet echoes of streets and skylines. My art aspires to transform perception, revealing the harmony within the chaos and the beauty within the fleeting.

My values

Authenticity

Each work is a true reflection of the city’s essence, capturing its pulse without filters or embellishments.

Resonance

Art should speak, not just to the eyes but to the soul. My work aims to evoke a deep emotional connection with every viewer.

Harmony

In every piece, I seek balance - between light and shadow, chaos and order, movement and stillness. It’s in these contrasts that the true soul of the city emerges, revealing the beauty hidden within the clash. Each work is a true reflection of the city’s essence, capturing its pulse without filters or embellishments.

My exhibitions

A Journey Through Time and Canvas

Each exhibition is more than a moment; it is a conversation between the artist, the city, and the souls that stand before the canvas. From the quiet beginnings in small galleries to international showcases where light and shadow danced across distant walls, every space has echoed with the pulse of color and the weight of untold stories.

  1. 2021-2024 New Horizons, New Conversations

Madrid, Spain, saw the magic of Christmas in Madrid in December 2021, a celebration of light, form, and festive creativity at Eka & Moor Gallery. Soon after, Athens, Greece, welcomed the works into Art Number 23 Gallery in January 2022, a city where ancient echoes met modern expression.

Later that year, in November 2022, Carré d’artistes Lyon in France became the next destination—a vernissage that brought together the pulse of a city and the movement of paint.

From 2021 to 2024, Vienna Art Market has become a returning stage—a space where collectors, dreamers, and creators intersect, where each brushstroke finds its audience in the ever-expanding dialogue of global art.

Each exhibition is not just a destination but a continuation of an unfolding journey - a testament to the evolving rhythm of creativity, an ever-expanding gallery without walls.
